The Perkiomen Valley School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Part-Time School Police Officer to join our team. 

 

Position Description

Under the direction and supervision of the Chief of Police, the School Police Officer is responsible for working with school administrators, security staff and faculty on developing comprehensive safety plans to provide for the safety and welfare of students while on school grounds. The School Police Officer shall be a sworn police officer with the power to arrest as defined and limited as defined in the Pennsylvania Code.

  2. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  6. Demonstrated experience in working with children and young adults.
  7. Knowledge of trauma informed practices, mental health and crisis response for adolescents 
  8. Appropriate training with respect to police and juvenile matters.
  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
